The Loss of Neil Kearney

Our sincere condolences go to the wife and daughters of Neil Kearney, General Secretary of the International Textile, Garment and Leather Workers Federation on his untimely death this past week at the age of 59.

A native of Ireland, Mr. Kearney was a tireless advocate for the rights of workers in textile, garment and leather factories around the world.  His willingness to constantly travel the globe to pursue the fair treatment for workers was renowned by those of us in the CSR profession.  He made his voice and views well known through the International Labor Organization, trade unions and numerous other groups he helped found and support.

Tens of thousands of workers in factories around the world lost a true supporter this week.   Part of his legacy will be that his contributions and influence will live for years and decades to come.

Sincerely,

Steve Jesseph

Chief Executive Officer
