WRAP and USA-ITA to Host Webinar on Bangladesh
Please join WRAP and the U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles & Apparel (USA-ITA) for a webinar titled "A View from the Ground: Challenges & Solutions for Sourcing & Compliance in Bangladesh” on June 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. EST.
WRAP President & CEO Avedis Seferian will speak on his experiences on-the-ground in Bangladesh, highlighting sourcing and compliance challenges and opportunities in the South Asian nation, which is rapidly becoming a major apparel sourcing destination.
WRAP has an office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and regularly conducts fire safety training courses and IRCA-certified auditor training classes in country. While in Bangladesh recently, Seferian signed a Memorandum of Understanding between WRAP and the Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh.
USA-ITA President Julia K. Hughes and USA-ITA Washington Counsel David Spooner will participate in the conversation. Following Seferian’s presentation, Spooner will provide an update on the status of duty-free benefits in Bangladesh. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session for Seferian.
