WRAP Introduces Social and Environmental Compliance to Facilities in Indonesia
Arlington, VA, June 22, 2009

Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), the world’s largest facility-based social and environmental compliance certification program in the apparel industry, is hosting a seminar on corporate social and environmental compliance in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 2, 2009.

Co-organized with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (BVCPS) in Indonesia, the half-day seminar is focused on how to establish and maintain a facility-based social and environmental compliance program to satisfy buyer requirements. It will cover an overview of 12 WRAP Principles, current issues facing brands and retailers, how to get started on a labor compliance plan and a detailed review of the WRAP certification process. Technical and quality managers, internal auditors, personnel who handle customer audits, certification body auditors and other interested parties are encouraged to attend these events.

More than 40 international brands and retailers accept WRAP certification as a robust standard for their social accountability programs and the number is growing. Wide acceptance offers association members great advantages to lower the total cost of compliance by using one social and environmental certification to answer the needs of many clients. It also offers the opportunity to build new business with those existing brands and retailers in the US and European markets who accept the WRAP standard.
